Identification of family.
- Byun, et al. (2007) alluded to the HSL family of lipases.
- All known structures of the HSL family of esterases (Byun, et al. 2007) are present in the DALI search.
- 2pbl shares sequence similarity in regions characteric to the HSL family of esterases (Arpigny and Jaeger 1999).
- Characterised by their structural similarity to the mammalian hormone sensitive lipase. Surprisingly, a mammalian HSL was not returned in the BLAST search!
- 2pbl is a notably shorter peptide - poor alignment?
