Doxorubicin is bound to the surface of a POPC: cholesterol (9:1) lipid bilayer. The image is looking onto the surface of the bilayer. Solvent is present above and below the bilayer, however for clarity the solvent above the surface has been removed in this image. The image is a snapshot that was taken using VMD. It shows doxorubicin in van der Waals representation (green), cholesterol as gold sticks, POPC head groups as small pink spheres and POPC tails as grey lines.
